Biography

Daniel Blake runs a charity auction with an open bar sometime in June or July 2006, in which the Telescas bought an old portrait of the Merchant family. That night they are killed, and Daniel receives the commission to sell off all of their items. He advertises for a private showing almost immediately, telling Sarah that sensationalism brings out the crowds, even the rich ones.

At the invitation only showing Daniel talks with Evelyn a bit, and then spots two young men who seem out of place. He confronts them, who introduce themselves as Sam and Dean Connors, art dealers with Connors Limited. Daniel stresses that this is a private showing, and he doesn't remember seeing them on the list. Dean insists in a barbaric way that they are on it, and the two move off. Daniel heads back to check the list and finds that they are not, in fact, on it. He shows up while Sam is asking to see the provenances, and refuses them, telling them bluntly to leave. Sam declares they don't want trouble, and they both leave. Sarah tells him he was rude.

The next day Evelyn shows up and purchases the painting Sarah didn't want him to sell. However, Evelyn paid a high price and Daniel agreed to sell it. He oversees the crating of the painting, while Sarah berates him for selling it, telling him he is shameless. For the money Evelyn is paying, he can afford to be. He walks away after the crate is finished.
