Evelyn attends an event in June or July 2006 in which the Telescas' things were sold. She decides the next day to buy the painting of the Merchant family by paying an obscenely amount to Daniel Blake. It arrives in the evening, and she directs the moving men to place it up on the wall above the fireplace. She is enjoying herself by reading, and occasionally drinking a cup of tea. She hears a noise and glances up, gasping in horror.
Her throat is slit by Melanie Merchant.
