Forty years ago, Martin killed Cyrus. Martin called Jimmy and Clayton Soames to come help him bury Cyrus' body in his truck in the swamp.
In May 2006, Jimmy wants to print an article about two black men, including his best friend, Martin Robinson, who were killed on the same stretch of road, the same way in three weeks, but the Mayor, Harold Todd, wants him to sit on it.
That night the ghostly black truck of Cyrus Dorian hits Jimmy's car off the road, killing him.
