In June or July 2006, Ann is giggling while Mark adjusts the family portrait they bought at the charity auction. She wonders if it's creepy, but Mark tells her he'll keep her safe while they flirt. He goes to lock up while she runs upstairs to get ready for bed. After securing the front and side door, he heads up the stairs, stripping out of his pants. Once he reaches the bedroom, he asks Ann to turn on the lights because he can't see anything as he throws his shirt off. Kneeling on the bed, there is a squishing noise. Asking if she spilled anything, Mark turns on the lights himself. He realizes to his horror that her throat has been sliced open and she bled out. Falling backwards off the bed freaking out, a shadow appears over him. He looks up and screams.
He is killed by Melanie Merchant.
