Taylor is trying to make Lori, her roommate, into this hot chick that Rich will fall for. She helps Lori by loaning her one of her sexy red halter tops, which looks good on Lori, for her date. As Lori leaves, Taylor calls out to not to do anything she wouldn’t do, which was a joke, because Taylor would do anything. After Lori leaves she goes back to reading her magazine.
After church on Sunday, Taylor asks Lori to join the girls in tequila shots and watch Reality Bites, but Lori declines, saying her dad always makes supper on Sunday night. Taylor pushes a bit, and finally Lori promises she’ll try.
That night Taylor goes to bed before Lori comes in, and she is murdered with a slice to her neck before morning. In her blood on the wall is written a message for Lori: "Aren't you glad you didn't turn on the light?" Underneath the words is a large cross with four smaller crosses surrounding it, also written in blood.
