      1. The Gospels - The Life of Christ

The period of Christ's ministry, estimated at three years, is difficult to arrange in chronological order because of the different points of view expressed in parallel passages of the four Gospels. By checking the points at which the narratives agree, however, a logical sequence of events can be arrived at. One-third of the Gospel record is devoted to Christ's death and resurrection. There are 155 events listed on the following sheets, only 9 are recorded in all 4 of the Gospels.

Some possible changes to the order of the events listed in this document:

        1. Luke 9:51 thru 18:14, often treated as events that occured during Christ's ministry "beyond the Jordan" (the region called Peraea by Josephus) on His last journey to Jerusalem.
        2. Luke 10:38-42, could have taken place during one of Christ's earlier visits to Bethany.
        3. The three parables in Luke 15, which are narrated without indication as to time or place, appear to belong to the "spirit" of the middle period of his ministry.
        4. Luke 13:22-30 and 17:20 thru 18:8 concerning the severe denunciations of the Pharisees, appear to relate to the subject matter of the later period of His ministry. This material, for the most part, is found only in Luke.
