Biography

In Scarecrow, the demon Meg shows up in Meg Masters, a young hitchhiker that Sam comes across. At first she is wary of him, when Sam asks, "Uh, so where you headed?" she responds, "No offense, but no way I'm telling you... You could be some kind of freak." When the van stops and offers a ride, she is quick to jump on. Later Sam meets her again at the bus station. She claims she had to let the shady van driver go, because he was all hands. They talk and bond. They both are heading to California, and plan to take the next bus leaving at 5:05pm the next day. Over a meal, Meg explains that she had to leave home because she was just supposed to sit and do what her family wanted. Sam feels the same about his brother. They toast to having their own lives. She wakes up the next morning to find Sam's brother called to say goodbye. Yet when their bus came in, Sam decides to leave to go back to his brother since he can't get him on the phone. She begs Sam to come with her to California, but he won't leave his family. Later on Meg is hitchhiking again, riding in another van. She turns to him and tells him to pull over, she has to make a call. He does so, offering his cell. Instead she slices his throat, catches the blood in a goblet, and makes a call. She stirs the blood with an incantation, then demands why she couldn't have stopped Sam? She listens, responds with, "Yes". She listens, responds with "Yes" again. Again she listens, and responds with "Yes, Father."

Meg is next seen in Shadow when Sam spots her at a bar. They both are excited to see each other, and hug. Sam claims to be visiting friends. Meg tells him she conquered California and it got old, so she's living in Chicago. Sam asks if she's from Chicago, but she informs him she's from Andover, Massachusetts. Sam confesses he never thought he'd see her again, and she's glad he was wrong when Dean clears his throat. Sam introduces Dean, and Meg lets Dean have it, telling Dean that he was treating Sam like luggage, dragging Sam all over God's green earth. Awkwardly, Dean leaves. Meg apologises, saying she'd kill him. Sam believes Dean means well. They plan on hooking up, and she gives him her number. He gives Scout's Honor to call, and leaves. She goes home and knowing Sam's watching, she dresses in front of an open window. Afterwards she leads him to a warehouse and her black altar. Meg used it to summon Daevas to kill two people for her, to lure the Winchesters in. Meg allows him to "overhear" a conversation using the blood goblet where Sam'll think someone is coming, before she leaves. Later on, as she is praying over her black altar, Dean and Sam "sneak" in and hide. She calls out that hiding is childish, and they come out, with guns aimed at her. She says to Sam that this is going to put a crimp in our relationship. Dean wants to know where the Daeva is, as she assures him the shotgun isn't going to do much good. Sam wants to know who she is waiting for. Meg tells him you - and her Daevas attack, knocking them out. Both boys are tied to separate posts when they come around. Sam realizes that this is a trap, and with a prod, realizes the trap is for John. Dean mocks her, but she points out that John's weakness is his boys, and when he shows to rescue them, she'll kill everyone nice and slow and messy. Sam wants to know why, and she responds it's for loyalty and love. Meg gets all over Sam, starting to have some dirty fun when she hears a noise from Dean. Finding his knife, she tosses it away, and, climbing on top of Sam once more, asks if he is trying to distract her while his brother cuts free. No, because Sam has a knife of his own, and escapes by headbutting Meg. He overthrows her altar, and the Daevas toss her out the window, falling seven stories. She lays on the street as if dead, but later she uses a talisman to have the Daevas attack John and the boys when they are in the hotel together. Sam uses a flare to defeat her shadow demons, before the Winchesters all escape to the car. They separate. John leaves in his truck, and Meg watches the boys leave in the Impala.

Meg shows up in Blue Earth, Minnesota on July 13, 2006 in Salvation, pretending to be repentant to Pastor Jim Murphy. She talks a bit, confessing some of the things she's done. As she confesses to slitting a guy's throat and ripping his heart out, Meg flashes black eyes. Pastor Jim backs up, claiming she can't be there, on hallowed ground. However, that doesn't work on her. He takes off running; Meg stalks him down to his hunter's room where he tries to throw a knife at her. She catches it, and insults him by saying he throws like a girl. He wants to know what she wants. She wants the Winchesters, and since he'll never tell, Meg slits his throat. On July 14, Meg shows up in Lincoln, Nebraska, threatening to kill Caleb if John doesn't give up the Colt. John pretends ignorance, so Meg kills Caleb. She threatens to kill more of his friends, anyone who gave him shelter, helped him, or loved him, if he doesn't show up by midnight with the Colt in a warehouse in Lincoln. John agrees, although balks at the time restraint. John actually shows on time; Meg is wishing to kill more. Tom, another demon, joins them as Meg demands the Colt. John hands it over. Not knowing if it is the true Colt, Meg hands it over to Tom for confirmation. Tom, after looking it over, shoots Meg, putting her in a nasty mood. John claims he never used it, didn't know it wouldn't work, but then runs before the demons could reach him. They follow him down into the access tunnel under the warehouse, at which point John sparys Holy Water, which burns Tom and keeps Meg and Tom from following him down the tunnel. Later Tom captures John in the alley. When Dean calls to check up on John, Meg answers the phone, telling him that he's never going to see his father again.

Meg makes a surprising entrance at Bobby's Singers in Devil's Trap, first killing Rumsfeld before kicking in the door. The demon is trapped, and tied up. It first taunts Dean by saying she killed John, but eventually gives up infomation that he's still alive in Jefferson City, Missouri, to keep from being exorcised. However, Dean pushes Sam into finished the exorcism, breaking their 'deal' and sending the demon to Hell.

In I'm No Angel, Castiel uses the name "Clarence" as an alias when he is trying to lay low from other angels. When Dean tells Sam this, Sam recalls that "Clarence" was the nickname Meg had for Castiel.

Characteristics

Meg has black eyes (irises and sclerae) (Salvation) Her true face is not shown, but an insane Castiel describes her as being "so beautiful" (Reading is Fundamental); if not a product of his skewed view of the world at the time, then this is highly unusual, as the true forms of demons are usually described in horrific terms (No Rest for the Wicked). Meg has a preference for possessing beautiful women. She has shown knowledge of spells that even most other demons haven't (Born Under a Bad Sign) and as a pupil of Alastair, she is skilled at both enduring and inflicting torture (Caged Heat). Her presence causes sudden gusts of air (Salvation).

Equipment

She owned a goblet, that she used to make calls to Azazel with, using blood.
