On July 14, 2006 Monica is taking Rosie for a walk. There is a light rain so she has her umbrella up until the rain stops. A nice young man comes up and offers to hold her baby stroller while she closes up the umbrella. He introduces himself as Sam, that he just moved up the block. She introduces herself and Rosie and welcomes him into the neighborhood. He compliments Rosie, and Monica tells him it's almost like Rosie can read minds, she never cries and just stares at people. She tells him they bought their place right before Rosie was born, and that she's 6 months old today. Sam seems a bit upset, but then just smiles and tells her to take care before leaving. Charlie came home then, so Monica takes Rosie over to meet Daddy coming home.
That evening, they have a wonderful supper and a little after 8pm Monica lays Rosie down for the night, she hears a train and goes to the window to listen a bit before leaving the nursery. About 8:45pm there is a noise downstairs, and Charlie goes to find out what it is. Monica calls out to find out if everything is okay, only to have Charlie yell back to get the baby. She walks into the nursery, only to find a figure standing over Rosie's crib. She starts to ask, What are you doing? But she gets thrown against the wall, and unbelievably up the wall and pressed tightly against the ceiling. Even more strange, Sam races in, and shoots the figure, which disappears and causes Monica to fall. Sam wrestles Monica out of the nursery, telling her Dean has Rosie, as she screams for her baby. The fire breaks out in the nursery as they run out of the room, and she meets Charlie on the front lawn. Charlie is belligerent, yelling at Sam and Dean to get away from his family. She tells him they saved them, grabbing Rosie from Dean's arms. Charlie puts his arms around both of them, as she tells them thank you.
Sam wants to go back inside to kill the shadow thing, but Dean prevents him from going.
